Andover, MA — Feb 7, 2007
Enterasys Networks®, the Secure Networks Company™, today announced that it has completed interoperability testing of its Secure Networks™ products with the Microsoft Network Access Protection policy enforcement platform.
Enterasys Matrix™ N-Series and SecureStack Ethernet switches, Enterasys Sentinel Trusted Access Gateway appliances and Dragon® Security Command Console interoperate with Network Access Protection to enforce user access restrictions and security policy rules within a networking infrastructure. Network Access Protection will be available when the next version of Windows Server, code-named "Longhorn," ships in the second half of 2007.

Network Access Protection is a policy enforcement technology built into the Windows Vista and Windows Server “Longhorn” operating systems that enables customers to better protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with network health policies. Microsoft’s Network Access Protection technology is publicly available with trial versions of Windows Vista, and available to select partners and customers with Beta 2 of Windows Server “Longhorn.”

“Enterasys is committed to ensuring that our Secure Networks products and solutions are both standards-based and interoperable with leading enterprise computing environments,” said Trent Waterhouse, vice president of marketing for Enterasys Networks. “We are taking advantage of the extensible platform for network client access control in Network Access Protection, and Enterasys’ policy-based network visibility and enforcement, to provide new levels of embedded security that help protect our customers and their information.”

Enterasys is demonstrating the latest versions of its Sentinel and Dragon advanced security applications at the RSA conference in San Francisco this week. These releases enhance the functionality, performance and interoperability between Sentinel and Dragon, and support seamless integration with Enterasys NetSight® Policy Manager. Enterprise customers can leverage this functionality to extend network access control beyond “health state” assessment to include context such as time of day, location, user role-based authorization and secure quarantine/remediation.

“Microsoft and Enterasys share the same dedication to providing our customers with the highest levels of security in their networking environments,” said Calvin Choe, senior program manager for the Enterprise Networking Group at Microsoft Corp. “Industry partners such as Enterasys are vital to the successful implementation of Network Access Protection by our mutual enterprise customers.”
