多彩な構成をサポートするため、Matrix N シリーズには
5つのシャーシ タイプ、Matrix N スタンドアロン・N1・N3・Matrix
N5・Matrix N7 が用意されています。
Matrix N スタンドアロンは文字通りスタンドアロン型の筐体、N1 は 1スロット、N3 は 3スロットのモジュラー型シャーシ、Matrix
N5 は PoE (Power over Ethernet) をサポートする統合型電源をサポートする 5スロットのモジュラー型シャーシ、Matrix
N7 は 7スロットのモジュラー型シャーシです。いずれの製品ともホットスワップ可能な電源モジュールとファン
トレイをサポートします。これらの2タイプのシャーシにより、Matrix
N シリーズは幅広いネットワーク構成において、必要なポート密度・キャパシティ・パフォーマンス要件を満たすことができます。
Matrix N シリーズは分散型パッシブ バックプレーンによって HA （ハイ
アベイラビリティ） を実現するよう設計されています。N シリーズのバックプレーンはポイントツーポイントのマトリックス型のデザインで、各スイッチング
モジュールをフルメッシュで相互接続することによりスケーラビリティとパフォーマンスを確保しています。このスイッチング
モジュール間接続は各リンク毎に 20Gbps から 80Gbps までのスイッチング
キャパシティをサポートします。システム全体のスイッチング キャパシティは、Matrix
N1 が 80Gbps、Matrix N3 が 240Gbps、Matrix
N5 が 800Gbps、Matrix
N7 が 1.68Tbps となっています。
Matrix N シリーズ シャーシは標準ベースの 802.3af PoE をサポートし、IP 電話やエンテラシス RoamAbout AP3000
のような無線 LAN アクセスポイント・リモート セキュリティ スキャナやセキュリティ
カメラに電源を供給することができ、それらのデバイスに個別電源を用意する必要性をなくします。
Matrix N5 は統合型 PoE 電源シェルフを、Matrix N1 / N3 / N7 は外付けの PoE 電源シェルフをサポートすることにより、PoE
に対応します。全 Matrix N シリーズは合計 4,800 ワットまでの電源供給に対応し、Matrix N7 の場合はクラス 2 （7.5 ワット）の
PoE デバイスを全ポートで同時にサポートすることができます。

Note:
- Base system “bundles” are not available outside North America;
only spares and system components are available in regions outside North America.
- Basic EOS routing is included with each DFE. EOS supports static routes
and RIP.
- Only one advanced Routing Package (N-EOS-L3) is required per chassis (N3,
N5, or N7).
- The Advanced Routing Package (N-EOS-L3) includes OSPF, DVMRP, and PIM-SM.
- Matrix N7 and N3 chassis support only Distributed Forwarding Engines (DFEs).
- The Matrix N7 and N3 do not support first-, second-, and third-generation
modules.
- Matrix N-Series bundles are available in North America only.
