NetSight Console bridges the functionality gap between complex enterprise management systems and traditional element manager applications. Serving as the centralized visibility and control component of Secure Networks™, NetSight Console is the foundation to manage all the security-enabled infrastructure components as a total system. It enables you to view your infrastructure as a unified whole rather than as a disparate set of individual components.
NetSight Console is the platform from which all NetSight “plugin” management applications are launched. Its distributed client/server architecture enables users to log in to NetSight from anywhere on the network with appropriate authentication and authorization.
“Plugin” applications for NetSight Console include Automated Security Manager, Inventory Manager, NAC Manager, and Policy Manager. For added flexibility, NetSight has been designed to work with in conjunction with enterprise management platforms such as CA Unicenter®, HP OpenView® and IBM Tivoli®.
NetSight Console greatly enhances the effectiveness of network administrators by simplifying both routine and one-time tasks, such as reconfiguring switches and access points, monitoring network performance, and isolating faults. It incorporates advanced features that fully utilize the enhanced functionality of Enterasys switching, routing, and wireless products—including topology maps, FlexViews (graphical depictions of a broad range of network configuration parameters), VLAN management, device discovery, and event logging. NetSight Console is a robust administration tool that scales from small enterprise deployments to very large networks with unrestricted numbers of networked devices.
