Course Overview:

The Advanced Infrastructure Certification for CCIE’s course targets users that have a solid understanding of network connectivity solutions and have already obtained the Cisco CCIE Routing & Switching certification.  Candidates are Network Administrators or Integration Specialists who are tasked with the integration or management of Enterasys Connectivity solutions.  In addition to covering the differentiators and advantages of the Enterasys Connectivity solutions, students will be required to complete both a written and hands-on lab exam upon conclusion of the class.

Course Prerequisites:

Students are required to hold a valid CCIE Routing and Switching certification.

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students will have gained the knowledge to best utilize their existing Cisco networking background and successfully and integrate / manage an Enterasys Connectivity Solution.

Course Agenda:

Area of focus within the class involves:

  • Switching and Routing – Concepts and overviews including:
    • Switching: Device Management, VLAN concepts, and Spanning Tree
    • Routing: OSPF, VRRP, DVMRP, and Policy Based Routing
  • Network Management – with focus on the Enterasys NMS Suite NetSight including:
    • Console: FlexViews, Compass and Topology Manager
    • Inventory Manager: Firmware upgrades, Template usage and Capacity Planning
    • Policy Manager: Overview and understanding of Quality of Service (QoS), Authentication mechanisms, Enterasys Policy Implementation including roles, classification rules and Policy deployment.
  • Wireless – Discussions including overview of the RoamAbout Switch Manager (RASM), Planning Tool, Rogue Detection, Countermeasures and Authentication mechanisms

The Advanced Infrastructure Certification for CCIE’s course is designed for users that have a proven comprehensive understanding of networking technologies by having obtained their CCIE certification and now require knowledge on Enterasys technologies and networking differentiators.  Ideal candidates for the course are Network Administrators or Systems Integration Specialists who are tasked with the responsibility of installing, configuring and managing an Enterasys network environment. Upon completion of this course, your employees will have gained the ability to provide insight through real world lab exercises regarding the implementation, operation and management of an Enterasys infrastructure.  Upon completion of the Advanced Infrastructure Certification for CCIE’s course, students will have the opportunity to become Enterasys Certified Internetworking Engineers in the Connectivity (ECIE-C) space by taking the ECIE-C written and lab examination.
