The Enterasys RoamAbout wireless local area network (WLAN) is a highly secure, standards-based and scalable enterprise wireless solution. The solution offers features such as policy, plug-and-play operation, Layer 3 mobility, rogue access point detection, reliability and load balancing to provide a robust, secure wireless enterprise network. In addition, the RoamAbout WLAN solution can be centrally managed by the RoamAbout Switch Manager (RASM) application, which provides complete visibility and control over the WLAN.

Enterasys Professional Services and our certified partners are WLAN subject matter experts with targeted strengths in the design and deployment of the RoamAbout WLAN solution. We will work directly with your network specialists to plan, design, implement and operate your network for use with the RoamAbout WLAN solution.

 
  • Meet with enterprise network and security staff to define overall deployment goals
  • Collect current enterprise network map to guide wireless local area network design and implementation
  • Define coverage areas and determine capacity requirements for wireless local area network
  • Collaborate with enterprise network staff to determine installation locations for WLAN equipment
  • Determine optimum placement for access points
  • Agree on the final installation and deployment verification checks to validate the operational wireless local area network
  • Determine installation and full deployment milestone dates
  • Implement the agreed upon design
  • Provide configuration and operational training on RoamAbout to IT staff
  • Perform final installation and deployment verification checks
