End-of-Sale/End-of-Service-Life Policy
This is the End-of-Sale and End-of-Service-Life policy for all Enterasys hardware, software and appliance products or systems.
End-of-Sale Policy
Enterasys considers a product at End-of-Sale when either it can no longer be ordered from Enterasys, or it is marketed as being End of Sale on the Support web site. When possible Enterasys will either offer a more current revision of the same product or provide recommendations on a migration strategy.
Enterasys communicates product End-of-Sale through the support web site (http://www.enterasys.com/products/eosl/). Enterasys strives to notify customers 6 months in advance, when possible, through this online mechanism.
End-of-Service-Life Policy
Enterasys considers a product to be at End-of-Service-Life when the published End-of-Service-Life date is reached as published at http://www.enterasys.com/products/eosl/. This policy applies to Enterasys-manufactured product only (see section below on Third Party Product Support).
For software products that have reached End-of-Sale , Enterasys shall provide full support on the current release of the product (e.g., 3.2 plus one release back (e.g., 3.1), provided that the end-user customer continues to maintain an active service contract.
For hardware products that have reached End-of-Sale after January 1, 2005, Enterasys will continue to provide support for a period of five (5) years from the End-of-Sale date, provided that the end-user customer maintains an active service contract, unless noted otherwise. Hardware products that have reached End-of-Sale prior to January 1, 2005 will remain on the previous three-year End-of-Service-Life (EOSL) schedule, unless otherwise stated.
Once a product has reached End-of-Service-Life, renewals of subsequent service contracts are limited to reduced levels of support and may no longer be eligible for engineering escalations.
Third Party Product Support Policy
End-of-Sale and End-of-Service-Life support for third party product may vary from Enterasys' policy, depending on the specific product and associated agreement that Enterasys has with the product manufacturer. Enterasys shall endeavor to communicate any deviations from the standard policy for third party product as appropriate to impacted Enterasys customers and partners.
