What is a Twitter Chat?

A Twitter chat is a pre-arranged chat that happens on Twitter through the use of predefined hashtags to link those tweets together in a virtual conversation. Twitter chats are a way for us to bring together thought leaders, customers, and just about anyone else interested in discussing the relevent topic!

How Can You Participate?

On the day and time of the event, you can utilize a number of tools to follow the assigned hashtags. Those tools include: Twitter Search, Tweetchat, Tweetdeck, Monitter, Tweet Grid

During the event, you can contribute, follow along, or submit your own questions to be answered simply by assigning the corresponding hashtag into the Tweet.

Doug McDonald is the Wireless Network Manager with Siemens Enterprise Communications working in a dedicated capacity for Henry Ford Health System in Rochester Hills, Michigan. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Services Management from Michigan State University. Doug has thirteen years of experience as an IT professional, five dedicated in healthcare WI-FI. He holds a number of certifications including CPHIMS, CWNA, CWSP, and ITILV3. Doug is responsible for over 4.2 million square feet of wireless Infrastructure at Henry Ford Health System. This includes over 3000 access points a number of wireless controllers, and an overlay Intrusion detection/prevention system. He is now leading an initiative to nearly double the wireless footprint at Henry Ford Health System.

Ali Youssef is a Wireless Solutions Architect with Siemens Enterprise Communications working in a dedicated capacity for Henry Ford Health System as a Biomedical Solutions Architect. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with Mechanical Engineering minor from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a CWSP, PMP, CPHIMS, and ITILV3 certifications. Ali has a total of 12 years of experience with medical device design, network architecture, and project management. He has worked in the Automotive, and Healthcare sectors.

Ali was responsible for spearheading the initial design and deployment of the wireless Infrastructure at Henry Ford Health System growing the system from a handful of access points to over 1100 wireless access points and several wireless controllers. He was also the lead wireless architect for the global SEN STAR project using 10 controllers and spanning ~100 global offices. His focus today is on ensuring that best wireless, architecture and security practices are implemented for wireless medical devices added on to the network and that all relevant regulations are scrutinized and met.
